The genre with, quite possibly, the most technical, scientific, and tongue-twisting terminology, medical narration ranges from informing medical professionals on the results of the latest medical research like drug trial results and statistical analyses, to reassuring patients by explaining a medical procedure they will undergo, or teaching them how to administer the medication they’ve just been prescribed. Medical narrations include the delivery styles of all other genres (corporate narration, commercials, eLearning, promos, etc.).
Just as medical narration includes a range of emotions and delivery styles, so too, has my medical narration career. I have voiced medical scripts that are highly technical and factual, those that recognize feelings of despair and offer hope, and everything in between.
When feeling strong emotions will motivate people in the search for cures, healing and hope, I will empathize with patients who really need to know they aren’t in it alone, I will reassure family members through explanations of how a procedure will happen and what to expect after, and I will clearly provide even the most technically complex subjects to medical providers and healthcare professionals with flawless articulation of even the most difficult medical terminology.

I’m not a licensed medical professional, but I have spent many years of both formal and self-study learning about veterinary medicine, mental health, and fitness & wellness. I also have a degree in psychology and have worked closely with medical professionals including veterinarians, psychologists, and licensed clinical social workers for many years (read more here). This has given me real-world experience with and understanding of many medical fields and scientific disciplines that goes deeper than just the surface.
I have also worked on engineering projects that focused on linguistics and natural language processing. Combined with my skills above, this has given me experience with a vast vocabulary of complex medical, scientific, and technical terminology. When you need someone who can elegantly deliver the line “…may trigger an autoimmune response that causes synovial membrane hypertrophy, telangiectasia, chronic inflammation, and increased osteoclastogenic activity…” like they’re dancing along the sentence fluidly, rather than stumbling over it, I’ve got you covered!
